THE DEVESTATION

Hurricane Sandy has hit New Jersey with a TKO!!! Monroe Township is still without power since Monday. There are a lot of people in our neighborhood with generators but they are selfish as hell. For the ones who don't have a generator I feel your frustration. Most of the neighbors around us have generators and not one offered to put as much as a gallon of milk in their fridge for us. If they have learned anything from this storm it should be humility and compassion. Where you may have plenty now that can all change in a matter of minutes.
Although we have no power, heat, or hot water I am still thankful to have life, my family, and no damage to my home. So many people have lost everything they own except the clothes on their backs. Homes have been demolished from high winds, trees, rain, and flooding beyond belief. The images and stories on the news will never be forgotten. Men, women, and children alike are hurting beyond belief from loss and despair. Then you have the cruel people who have the audacity to be looting at a time like this, really??? How dare you? Shame on you!!! People need compassion, understanding, help, prayer, Jesus and a miracle. For those who don't know God and the power of prayer, I urge you to get acquainted with both immediately!
Another issue I want to address, the grocery stores. Can you explain to me why the grocery stores have freezers packed from top to bottom and it's all gone to waste? Why wouldn't you start selling that stuff for 75% off to the customers before the storm actually touched down and knocked out all the electricity? Where they were trying not to lose a few cents they have now loss thousands of dollars because they had to throw it all away. People are starving and grocery stores threw away enough food to feed a small country or two.
Gasoline, where do I even begin with that? Why is it that people are in line for hours at a time to put gas in their vehicles. Okay, needless to say folks are using up much more gasoline than normal to run their cars and generators but damn! Then on top of waiting for hours in long lines, the price of gas went up again. You went from seeing $3.45 to anywhere between $3.75 to $4.45 a gallon. This is just to much to take all at once.
All I can say is, my fellow New Jerseyians, please help one another as best you can because we can't get through this without unity, compassion, and action. I'm not saying you have to pay for people's groceries, but that would be a nice gesture. Just offer some type of help in any way that you are able. Keep on praying one for another. God please give the power companies what they need to get the state of New Jersey back up and running normally.

God bless one and all!
